In hotel applications the NEC XN120 PBX can be controlled either from a keytelephone and a DSS console or, through the Hotel PPM, from the Front Office/PMS system. Mixed-mode (automatic and phone-controlled) operation is not supported.
Assono Hotel PPM enables the integration of the following features into a compatible Front Office System:
- Check-in and check-out management from the Front Office System
- Scheduling and cancelling wake-up calls from the Front Office System
- Receiving SMDR data from the XN120 and transmitting them to the Front Office for Call Accounting
- Room Status (Housekeeping) setting from the room telephone set
- Minibar charging from the room telephone set
- Assono Hotel PPM is a Windows service running on 32-bit Windows systems, on standalone servers or – subject to previous testing – on the actual server or PC running the Front Office System. It can manage up to three interconnected NEC XN120 PBX systems simultaneously and presents these PBX networks to the Front Office application as a homogenous, single system.
The PPM communicates with the Front Office System by means of a simplified FIAS protocol. It connects to the NEC XN120 PBX via analogue PBX extension ports. The server/PC running ASSONO PPM connects to the PBX ports through a dedicated SIP/analogue gateway. The number of necessary PBX extension ports – and, accordingly, the number of SIP gateway analogue ports – can be 1-3 for each XN120 PBX, depending on the number of hotel features to be implemented.
